Teaching Philosophy

I take my job as an educator seriously! I am interested in helping my students learn and grow. I always tell my students that we are never done learning, myself included! Keeping an open mind and an open heart are key to being able to achieve that growth. 

Research Interests

I am interested in the different ways monuments, museums, and memorials are constructed and contested. I am also interested in art as a mode of memory and as mode of disagreement. My research focuses on histories of enslavement and colonialism.

Family, Outside Hobbies, and Interests

I love going to concerts. I'm a San Antonio Spurs, Yankees, and Indiana Fever fan! I love sports.
