Letter from the Director
Dear Prospective Baylor Debater,
Thank you for your interested in Baylor University and the Glenn R. Capp Debate Forum. Baylor Provides excellent opportunities for undergraduate education -- we have recently been listed as one of the best among private colleges in several ratings systems. This commitment to excellence in undergraduate education is most clearly demonstrated by Baylor University's commitment to intercollegiate debate. As anyone on campus will tell you, one of the premiere programs for undergraduates at Baylor is the Glenn R. Capp Debate Forum.
The Glenn R. Capp debate forum is one of the oldest and most successful debate programs in the nation. Baylor's tradition of debate begins in 1850, and since that time Baylor debaters have won three national titles, scores of regional titles and numerous local and individual awards. There are few programs that can match Baylor's record of excellence in competition.
Participating in intercollegiate debate at Baylor University provides students with skills and experiences that will make them successful in whatever career they choose. Alumni of the Glenn R. Capp debate forum include Governors of the state of Texas (including former Governor Ann Richards), Senators and Representatives at the state and national level, judges, prominent attorneys, and academicians.
I would enjoy the opportunity to speak with you personally about the benefits of Baylor debate. If you have an opportunity to visit our campus, please feel free to set up a time to meet with me personally. You may feel free to contact Dr. Jeff Nagel, Director, at (254) 710-6921 or email him at Jeff_Nagel@baylor.edu. I look forward to talking to you.
Sincerely,
Dr. Jeff Nagel
Director, Glenn. R. Capp Debate Forum
