About Us
In the Department of Communication, we explore how messages shape relationships, organizations, culture, and everything we do. Our bachelor's and master's programs equip students to thoughtfully craft and analyze messages across multiple audiences, settings, and mediums. Students learn alongside scholar-teachers who lead the discipline in research on rhetoric and public discourse and communication dynamics in organizational, health, technology, and interpersonal studies.
With more than 650 majors, minors, and graduate students who will go on to careers in business, public service, nonprofit leadership, ministry, law, education, and more, we are a thriving program that promotes diverse interests and goals. At the same time, our faculty are deeply committed to creating a community where our students receive mentorship and feel known on a personal level. Join us and find your voice!
