Teaching Philosophy:
What we do in the classroom has transformative power – it can change our relationships, workplaces, communities, and the world for the better. This idea was engrained in me in college and has followed me into classrooms from Austin to San Diego to Waco. The field of communication is vast and multi-faceted; therefore, my attempt at changing the world begins with fostering connections between and among students, the material they’re studying, and the world around them. The impact that my students can go out and make, from within their households to across the world, using the skills and concepts they learned in the classroom, that we worked on together, is both exciting and rewarding.

Family, Outside Hobbies, and Interests:
My husband, Luke, also teaches in the Department of Communication here at Baylor. We have three kids, William (7), Benjamin (5), and Owen (2), and we love spending time together as a family. We love to read books, play most sports, swim, run, hike, and travel. We love to watch sports, too, and we’re enjoying rooting for the Baylor Bears!
What is the best thing about being a Baylor Bear?
There are so many things to love about being a Baylor Bear. I love the mission of Baylor, the students, the energy on campus, the sports, the fun traditions… it’s great to be a Bear.
