Baylor Debate Competes at Weber State University Tournament

February 27, 2024

Earlier this year, Baylor Debate competed at Weber State University, with one team invited to the prestigious Val Browning Round Robin and another competing in the tournament itself. At the round robin, the team of Lawson Hudson ('24) and Omar Darwish ('26) went 5-0 in preliminary debates and advanced all the way to semifinals, defeating schools from West Georgia, Gonzaga, Weber State, and Kansas State along the way.

At the Weber State Tournament, the team of Anastasia Keeler ('27) and Kyla Pertuit ('27) went 6-0 in preliminary debates, winning debates against Cornell, the US Naval Academy, and Samford. They then received a bye through to finals where they won on a 3-0 decision to cap off a perfect weekend!

Congratulations to all the debaters on their success so far this season, and Sic 'em Bears!
