Destinee Moore and Jack Ratliff Win the Fall 2023 “Best of the Best” Speech Contest at Baylor

The Fall 2023 version of Baylor University’s “Best of the Best” speech contest was held on Monday, December 4, 2023. Communication Department graduate students nominate the best speakers from each of the 60 students in their public speaking groups. Those students give their final speeches before an audience of 200 students who vote to determine the outcome.

 

In the 8:00 am class, the nominees for best speaker contest were Destinee Moore, a freshman political science and pre-law major from Houston, Texas; Gisele Rascon, a freshman, nursing major from Phoeniz, Arizona; Jeziah Cherian, a freshman pre-business, economics major from Lorena, Texas; Lily Rausch, a sophomore biochemistry and pre-med major from White Bear Lake, Minnesota; and Loc Phung, a freshman Pre-Business major from Austin, Texas. The top speaker, as selected by the vote of the audience, was Destinee Moore.

 

In the 9:05 am class, the nominees for the best speaker contest were Ainsley Seaman, a freshman entrepreneurship and religion major from Heath, Texas; Anastasia Keeler, a freshman political science and business administration major from Austin, Texas; Barrett McBrayer, a freshman religion major from Dallas, Texas; Jack Ratliff, a freshman business marketing major from Houston, Texas; Lilly Vineyard, a freshman accounting and management major from Argyle, Texas; and Tristan Demotica, a freshman supply chain management and international business major from Kapolei, Hawaii. The top speaker, as selected by the vote of the audience was Jack Ratliff.
